Like most other holidays, many shows that we see on television have a special episode celebrating valentines day where they go through various tropes associated with the holiday. Some of the most common conventions associated with this day are characters falling in love or protesting against it. There are also the regular seen conventions such as use of colors like red pink and white, chocolates flowers, and anything that is considered romantic. Some episodes may go over old relationships going through a rekindling of their love. In the example given Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation is part of the trope of a character celebrating the general idea of couples and falling in love on Valentine's Day with her own celebration of Galentine's Day. In this episode Leslie hosts a celebration for just the girls where she has her mother tell the story of a guy she had a thing with one Valentine's day in the past. In this episode Leslie finds that guy again and brings him to meet up with her mother in an attempt to bring them back together if just for the day. In the end it ends up not working out but the attempt to find love on Valentine's Day is evident in this episode.
